[edit] General Information

East Bay High School is located in Gibsonton. Its location is in the center of a rapidly developing region, attracting students from Balm, Riverview, Ruskin, Wimauma, and many other neighboring towns.[citation needed]

The school is known to easily surpass its 1,700 student capacity on a regular basis. In the 2005-2006 school year, the school held around 2,300 students. Even with the opening of two new high schools--Spoto High School and Earl J. Lennard High School--in 2006, the school remains crowded at its maximum capacity of 1,700.[citation needed]

The current principal for the 2008 school year is Sharon Morris, former Assistant Principal.

East Bay's Athletic Director is the great Scot Tipton. Mr. Tipton was one of the greatest and most respected wrestling coaches in Hillsborough County with Bloomingdale, and today he lends his guidance and support to the Indians program. He is instrumental to the team's success.

[edit] Mascot, motto, and colors

The school's mascot and football team is the "Fighting Indian". The campus is adorned with many Indian-related Senior Class projects, most notably the full-sized wall paintings of an Indian warrior in the gymnasium. [1]

The school colors are red and grey, with the alternate colors of white also appearing on team shirts and signs.[1]

Former East Bay wrestling coach Tom Lota was a 2006 inductee into the Florida Wrestling Hall of Fame. After Lota retired from East Bay, Erik Matricardi took over the wrestling program.

The school motto is "Determined to Achieve".[1]
