The East African Mole Rat (Tachyoryctes splendens) is a species of rodent in the Spalacidae family. It is found in Ethiopia and Somalia. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montanes, dry savanna, subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland, and subtropical or tropical high-altitude grassland.
