[edit] Another use

Another use of the song was in the 1980 TV version of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, where Lizzie's sister Mary Bennett did a comically awful job of trying to sing it. (the scene was memorable enough that I recognized the tune 20 years later on BUFFY) CharlesTheBold24.30.124.40 03:39, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] friendly giant

[edit] Please expand the article

I've added an expand request to the article. Such a famous song should have more about its history. When was it written? Where did it originate? Even if definitive answers are not known (as is the case with so many traditional songs) there should be historical information about it somewhere. Roger Whittaker, prior to his live recorded performance from 1975, jokes it was in the English Hit Parade of 1530. So was it? 68.146.41.232 (talk) 02:54, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
