[edit] Conflict with Oxford Dictionary of National Biography article

I'm writing an article on Thomas Browne, 4th Viscount Kenmare, who according to this page is the 6th Baronet Browne. However, my source, the 2004 edition of the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, claims "Thomas Browne's great-grandfather, Sir Valentine Browne, second baronet, had been created first Viscount Kenmare by James II in March 1689." In this page he is the third baronet. Either the ODNB is wrong, or this page needs to be renumbered, and one of the Brownes needs to be removed. Can anyone shed further light on the subject? ubiquity 11:52, 21 June 2006 (UTC)ubiquity

I found some sources that agreed with the original contributor. Apparently the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography is confused on this subject.ubiquity 04:23, 22 June 2006 (UTC)ubiquity
