This guy is definitely notable, but the article badly needs to be rewritten. A lot of trivial material needs to be removed, and it could use a more neutral POV. --Brianyoumans 22:50, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Also, the http://www.vernal.com/august_30_1995/obits/ link under Footnotes needs to be noted as being dead - can't even retrieve it via archive.org :^( I did find http://www.vernal.com/cmsimple2_3new/?August_31%2C_2005 but there's nothing about Earl there :^( I'd edit it myself, but for some reason none of the links show up when I try to edit the Footnotes section - just some Div statement - ??? Have all the references in this gigantic list been used in the creation of this article, or is it just a list of every book that mentions Earl Bascom. I am hiding the section until this can be cleared up. --Kmsiever 15:16, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
