Early Times is a music industry veteran from Sacramento, CA affectionately known as the "Hobo Deluxe". During the 1990s, as a singer and songwriter in Sacramento, Early Times made a name for himself playing jazz, blues, rock, and folk clubs, often all in the same week. His bands included a who's-who list of the best artists in the area. Early Times performed and recorded with Johnny Heartsman, "the Incredible" Jimmy Smith, E.C. Scott, and members of Cake, Tesla, and 7 Seconds. He received the Critics' Choice Award as Sacramento's Best Guitarist in 1997.
Early Times then left Sacramento and moved to New York. He became a founding staff member for the fledgling Sirius Satellite Radio and helped launch the blues channel there. He also became the main DJ sent to represent Sirius at events around the country. He has been a DJ at many auto shows including NY, Boston, Chicago, and Washington D.C. He also worked at the Bellagio in Las Vegas in 2006.
