Earl Zindars

Earl Zindars (born Earl Zindarsian on September 25, 1927 in Chicago; died August 15, 2005 in San Francisco) was an Armenian-American composer of jazz and classical music. He was also a percussionist. He achieved his bachelor's from DePaul University, master's in composition from Northwestern University, and later studied at Oxford University. His wife was a jazz singer and he was a long time member of the "Golden Gate Park Band." In his career he worked with Bill Evans and won a "Jazz Pioneer Award." After his death from cancer Bill Cunliffe dedicated a CD to him.[1]
