Earl Shaw (born December 17, 1986) is an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League.
He was elevated from the Sydney Swans rookie list in 2005. He is yet to make his debut for the club. The Balmain junior and NSW/ACT Rams under-18 representative was taken with the Swans fifth draft pick - 59 overall - in the 2004 Rookie Draft. As a young developing ruckman, he excels at the stoppages and, using his athleticism, links up well around the ground. Described as a real competitor but needs to work on his football knowledge and skills. Had surgery on his groin after the Swans Reserves Grand Final and was in rehabilitation (until the end of January) when learning of his promotion to the senior list for the 2005 season.
[edit] 2005 season
After spending 2005 with the reserves as a rookie-listed player, he was promoted to the senior list at the end of the season. The tall, agile young ruckman is a local product from Campbelltown and the NSW/ACT Rams. Takes a good mark, but will be given plenty of time to develop.
