Earl Delisser Barrett (born April 28, 1967 in Rochdale, Lancashire) is a former English footballer, most famous for his stints with Everton, Oldham Athletic, Aston Villa, Sheffield Wednesday and Manchester City. He played mainly at right back though could also adapt to a central defensive role. He also gained three England caps whilst playing at Oldham and Aston Villa. The £1.4m Aston Villa paid for him remains Oldham's record transfer receipt.
As a teenager, Barrett helped Chester City to promotion from Division Four in 1985-86 while on loan.
In 2001 he famously appeared on Celebrity Stars in their Eyes as Marvin Gaye. He came 4th.
He is now working at Manchester City as an Events Organiser.
His nicknames were "The Pearl", Perliniho and 'The Earl of Barrett'. After obtaining a degree is sports science he is now obtaining his coaching badges. .
