[edit] Moguls?
"Moguls" is kind of a loaded term. How about renaming this category "Early game industry figures" instead? It'd have a lot more entries that way. Yes or no? Reasons (if no)? — Frecklefoot | Talk 21:56, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- No. When I created this Category, I wanted to be able to categorize influential game company founders and executives who greenlit many projects or created brands -- as opposed to producers, designers, and programmers who focused on individual projects. I used "Mogul" because there is a Movie Mogul category for influential heads of film studios. I can see how "Mogul" might be considered a loaded terms but the problem with something like "industry figure" is that someone like Sid Meier or Richard Garriott might fall into that category, whereas I wanted a place for the Trip Hawkins' and Doug Carlston's of the industry. Okay, no objection. And there's nothing stopping me from creating a Early game industry figures category of my own. :-) — Frecklefoot | Talk 14:11, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
