From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This category lists early Soviet republics that were formed in the aftermath of the Russian Revolution. Most were within the former territory of Imperial Russia but several were elsewhere in Europe and Asia and took their inspiration from the Bolsheviks and the October Revolution.
Others existed only before the creation of the Soviet Union after which they took a different form.
See category:Soviet Republics for the republics of the Soviet Union in its final state.
See category:Post-Russian Empire states for other states existed within the territory of the Imperial Russia after the Russian Revolution.
