[edit] Extracurricular activities
Students can participate in a variety of activities before and after school, including athletics and academic competitions. Eagleview offers basketball, American football, softball, track, cross country running, volleyball, wrestling, and tennis. All sports are coached by teachers.
Academic extracurricular activities are also offered at Eagleview. Among them are forensics, Science Olympiad, MathCounts, and occasional spelling bee practices.
[edit] Honor rolls
There are three honor rolls: the Principal's Honor Roll, Merit Honor Roll, and Honorable Mention Honor Roll. Each are published in the monthly school newsletter (which up until the 2005-2006 school year was distributed throughout the school; it is now entirely Web-based in Portable Document Format).
[edit] Achievements
- Eagleview Middle School has consistently been one of the top-performing schools on the Colorado Student Assessment Program, scoring excellent for the years 2003-04[1] and 2005-06.[2]
- The school has achieved notability in Colorado for winning the 2006 Colorado Science Olympiad competition, held at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden. It defeated the second place team by 75 points with a final score of 105 and placing first in three events (Compute This, Experimental Design, Meteorology), second in five events, and third in three. The school's team participated in the national competition at the Indiana University Bloomington on May 20, 2006.[3]
- In recent years Eagleview has competed excellently in the Pikes Peak Chapter of the Colorado MathCounts competition. In 2004, the four-person team from the school placed second. In 2005 and 2006, the team placed first and third, respectively.[citation needed]
