Eadwig Æþeling (sometimes also known as Eadwy) was one of the eight sons of the early English king Æþelræd II (more commonly known as Ethelred the Unready). After the death of his elder brother Edmund Ironside he was the main claimant to the English throne. However, he was captured and executed by Danish King Canute in 1017.
