EA Playground is a video game for the Nintendo DS and Wii by Electronic Arts. The game is inspired by Wii Sports.[citation needed].

The Wii game features a singleplayer "campaign" and a multiplayer party mode that revolve around several well known "playground games" [1]. Games confirmed include Dodgeball, Tetherball, Slot car racing, paper airplane racing, dart shootout and wall ball. Another game confirmed was named Kicks. It is a mix of the sports Soccer and Volleyball (sepak takraw). More games can be unlocked by progressing through the single player campaign.

The Nintendo DS version of the game includes several exclusive game modes including Spitballs (which uses the microphone input), Bug Hunt, and Skateboarding which takes advantage of the stylus. The Games included in the DS Version are Dodgeball, Slot car racing, Kicks (Football) Bug Hunting, Spitballs, Hopscotch, and Trampolining. Again, the games are unlocked by going through the Single Player Campaign. These games can then be played in the Quick Play mode.

  • Tetherball - The object here is to smack the ball around the the pole so that your opponent can't hit it back while your opponent tries to do the same thing. You serve by swinging the Wii Remote upwards and hit the ball back by swinging the remote left or right, depending on which side you are on.
  • Dodgeball - Here, you try to get all the players on your opponent's team out by hitting them with balls. If you catch one of your opponent's balls (by pressing B without a ball) you retrieve one of your players if someone on your team is out. Move your person with the D-pad. You can block a ball by pressing B if you have a ball. Dodge balls by swinging the Wii Remote from side to side.
  • Wall Ball - In this game, you try to hit the ball against the wall through power-ups (for example, warp holes) so that it goes past your opponent. If you do this, you score a point. The controls are like tetherball, swings upwards to serve, and swing left or right to hit the ball against the wall. Press B while swinging or serving to hit it upwards and A to hit it downwards.
  • Slot Car Racing - The basic object of the minigame is to get to the finish line in first place. Twist the remote to switch lanes, press B to use your power-up, hold A to accelerate, and tap A two times to use your nitro.
  • Kicks - This game is a mix of soccer and volleyball. You have to kick the ball over the net and into the opponent's goal. To pass the ball to your teammate, press B. To kick the ball into the goal, swing the ball in that direction. If you're the goalie, press B to block an incoming ball.
  • Dart Shootout - Your goal is to shoot the targets with sad/mad faces on them to earn points(not the happy faces; those subtract points), shoot people to also earn points, and beat the level boss. Aim the cursor with the remote and fire with B. Block incoming darts by holding A and moving the remote to move the shield in that direction. Reload your bullets by swinging the remote up and then down.
  • Paper Airplane Racing - To win you have to steer your plane through obstacles to the finish line getting power-ups like speed boosts extra time, and sometimes red, green, and blue rings. To steer the plane up and down tilt the remote up and down. To move it left and right, twist the remote left and right.
