EA Link (formerly EA Downloader) was an electronic content delivery system from Electronic Arts that allowed users to purchase products (mainly computer games) on the Internet and download them directly to their PC. It was launched in November 2006 as a update to the original EA Downloader.[1]
In September 2007, EA Link[2] was replaced by the EA Store and a new EA Download Manager (EADM).[3] Users can now purchase from the EA Store website and use the downloadable EADM client to download their games.[4]
Users are given 6 months from the time of purchase to download a game. This period can be extended to two years by paying a $6 US fee.[3] According to the EA Link website, those who bought games via EA Link will continue to be able to download those games using the EADM.
