Nice work on the German football league articles. Wiggy! 12:20, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Amateurliga Nordbaden
My apologies! When I came across the article it was so small it provided very little context and did not sound notable. I find it is easier to start writing articles in a personal sandbox before moving them into the mainspace. That way the articles you create are more substantial and are much less likely to be tagged with speedy delete tags. If you do not know how to create a sandbox it is very simple, just start a new page with your username/Sandbox e.g. User:EA210269/Sandbox. Sorry for any inconvenience I caused! └and-rew┘┌talk┐ 18:43, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Hallo. Nice work on your German amateur football league articles. Just wondering which Perth you're currently living in: the original or the slightly warmer namesake? - Dudesleeper · Talk 03:38, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Regionalliga Nord
I think you might want to clarify that your new graphic shows the coverage of the Regionalliga from the season 2008/09 onwards. After all, no team just up and left come Janaury 1st. Besides, the league setup for the then tier-IV Regionalligas has not been finalised, so generally, I'd wait a bit longer. There are still issues about the allocation of some Lower Saxony clubs which might be put into Regionalliga West. --Madcynic (talk) 12:08, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Nope, can't help you with the alignment. Got no clue in these things. Yeah, it doesn't apply to all teams from Lower Saxony, only the westernmost ones are potential candidates for Regionallig West, such as VfB Oldenburg or BV Cloppenburg. But that will be decided once it has become clear which teams form the new tier IV league. --Madcynic (talk) 12:45, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Well, they aren't liking it at all, so you're quite on the spot with that feeling of yours ;) Madcynic (talk) 12:54, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Currently, this is just all talk and speculation, largely. However, there is an error worth correcting in the map displaying the current league coverage - Thuringia is coverd by Regionalliga Nord, as Erfurt play in Nord now, not South as prior to their last promotion to Bundesliga 2. Madcynic (talk) 13:33, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- The same goes for this one only inverse, obviously. Madcynic (talk) 13:36, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Well, they aren't liking it at all, so you're quite on the spot with that feeling of yours ;) Madcynic (talk) 12:54, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] That league system on your userpage
You oughta put the Verbandsligen Holstein aso into tier V, coz that's where they are :) Madcynic (talk) 10:30, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, I understand your qualms, however, from what I hear from the NFV (the North German FA), they do not plan to have an Oberliga any time soon. So, I'd personally edit that table to reflect reality. On the other hand, this can wait till fall. And I also use wiki to practise my English a little, so no speaking German for me here ;-)
- Regionalliga images look good, too. Madcynic (talk) 11:40, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Ouch
Ow. Well you've now unfortunately had a taste of Kay. Don't let it put you off. I'm thinking that the best way to eventually deal with the situation is to begin with a decent article on the history of East German football that ties into separate articles on each of the various broadly based sports associations (Dynamo, Chemie, Aufbau, Rotation, Stahl, Lokomotive, Wismut, Medizin, etc.) established there. That would establish a solid context for bashing the Dyanmo article into proper shape. Overall, the East German clubs are to this point under represented. Its somewhere on my list of things to do. One day. Wiggy! (talk) 01:17, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hey wiggy!, I'm not taking the guy to serious, from my point of view he suffers from some mental problem. Interessting how he gloryfies the old DDR-days when he is seemingly to young to have expierienced them. I guess, he must have had a father or grandfather in the old establishment who was fairly high up and tells him how "great" everything then was! I won't bother replying to his anonymus, unsigned rants. Anyway, I know what you are saying about the east German football, it is very under represented. I have tried a little bit of improvement by creating an article about the DDR-Liga and adding some stuff in the German football league system, however, I really think an article on the East German football league system is desperatly needed, might look into that some time soon. Regarding the clubs and sports associations, its a tricky one with the constant name changes and relocations. Hard to follow up, very time consuming! I wish you all the best there!EA210269 (talk) 01:27, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the heads-up.
There is no question in my mind that this is Kay. The Ostalgie / FRG-bashing and accusations of discrimination using "discriminate" as a transitive verb are dead giveaways. Since it's an IP he shouldn't be indef'ed, but feel free to revert his shenanigans and, if he starts trouble, I will block.
I also have my suspicions about a user who's not indef'ed, but will say more about that in the event that I bring it to SSP. - Revolving Bugbear 17:17, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, Dynamo is a troublespot because of Kay's relentlessness. But if the IPs (there's another one -- I'm assuming home and either work/school) cause trouble they can be blocked for evading an indef. I'll see what the user you mentioned does -- yes, he's the one I was thinking of. - Revolving Bugbear 15:09, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wiluna Airport
Thanks for the info regarding Maroomba Airlines. The reason I deleted the Maroomba flights is that I couldnt find anything current that said that they still fly to Wiluna. The Wiluna Shire website only mentions Skippers [2]. But if you can confirm that Maroomba flys a regular passenger service to Wiluna and that it not just a charter (for Wiluna Gold etc.), ill replace the content. Thanks for message, its good to get opinions from from people! Andrew Tazkal (talk) 03:41, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] DDR-Liga and East German football league system
First of all, thanks for creating the articles in the first place - I would never have gotten round to it. I fixed some language tidbits and also the formatting of the image (no putting a . between 100 and px ;-) ). Just keep those articles coming tho. Madcynic (talk) 19:27, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
- Well, let's hope somebody who grew up with GDR football does actually add something. I've only been to one or two DDR-Oberliga matches in the late 80s and generally have no personal memory of the league system, being born in '82 and all that. Madcynic (talk) 11:16, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Dynamo-hall of fame
You're welcome. I have also salted the title for a few months, i.e. protected against its re-creation. Your deletion reason was well stated, but I though you might like to know that we have a dedicated speedy deletion tag for these types of articles, {{db-g4}} in which you should always provide a link to the XfD discussion where it was deleted (here it would have been {{db-g4|Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dynamo-hall of fame}}). People are constantly misapplying G4 to articles only previousyl speedily deleted, so I, and I think most administrators, always have to search for the debate before deleting to make sure it wasn't just a prior speedy, if the past debate is not provided. Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 12:06, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- Please allow me to second this request. :) I was beginning to wonder if I would have to decline the speedy deletion request on Dynamo Hall of fame because I could not find a deletion discussion and, of course, it could not be found through the logs for the page. There was nothing in the deleted history of the creator. Fortunately, the thread here helped me find the relevant discussion so that I could handle this page properly. Given the number of speedy deletions we typically have to process at a given time, it would be very helpful if you could use the form above to link to the deletion debate in the future. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:27, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Dr. Jack de Sequeira
Will you relax?? Chill buddy! What do you expect? That every new article should be a 100 page thesis or something?? It takes time to write an article , okay? Maybe you have all the time in the world to sit and tag articles. Not everybody does. We have WORK to do, get it? --Deepak D'Souza (talk • contribs) 10:03, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- Im sorry that I was quite rude, but I hope you understand that you had been a bit hasty in tagging the article. I had planned to write this article nearly a year back, but due to various reasons I never started on it(Perhaps that is a curse that Dr Jack de Sequeira lives with. He has been forgotten by his own people). Until yesterday when I decided that I had to make at least a small start .Unfortunately, this is not a small problem since a lot of folks out there are over-eager to delete new articles without giving it time.
I'll keep your advice in mind and also return the favour. I have speed-delete tagged quite a few articles too, but they have mostly been obvious cases, such as some jilted shoolboy bitching about the girl who turned him down, etc. If you feel that some article is too short, watch it for at least a week before tagging it.
Revisit the article by next weekend and if you feel that the article deserves to be deleted, raise an AFD. I won't take it personally.
BTW your assumption that I am new to WP is incorrect I have been here for more than one and a half years.--Deepak D'Souza (talk • contribs) 10:04, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] re SC Dynamo Berlin
Thank you for your message at my talkpage. The ip block was the last thing I did before ending my lunchbreak, but I see that the next one was also blocked. I have quickly reviewed the above article and noted that ips are changing every time one gets blocked, replacing the vandalism. I subsequently reverted the last vandalism and have protected the article from editing by ip and new accounts for 3 days; I noted my actions at Talk:SC_Dynamo_Berlin#protection. I hope this brings a (temporary) end to this matter. LessHeard vanU (talk) 19:38, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response. It may be best if the article is semi-protected long term - the good editors will create accounts, and any bad ones will be blocked and have to wait for four days before vandalising... However, it may be best to see if this (or perhaps a couple more) short protections will discourage the vandals. Thanks for keeping an eye on this. LessHeard vanU (talk) 22:36, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Scott Ligertwood
Hey! I just referenced the Scott Ligertwood page you tagged as unreferenced. I've removed the tag, but thought I'd do the honourable thing of letting you know, so if you disagree you can put it back on there, but I'm pretty sure every fact on there is now cited. Thanks --rm 'w avu 14:04, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- I know it's not mandatory, or even alluded to in the guidelines, but I feel it's a nice courtesy. It takes WP:CIVILITY one step further. Thanks for adding that website. To be honest, I just wasn't sure which one to use. I figured that'd be the one, though despite his contributions to the albums, the only name mentioned on the page (other than God, that is) is jth (Joel Houston), which makes sense, being the visionary and leader of the band. Anyway, I'm glad the article's looking a bit better (though arguably still very much a stub). --rm 'w avu 23:27, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
