E.J. Whitley (born February 16, 1982 in Texas City, Texas) is an American football player who formerly played center in the NFL for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football as an offensive tackle for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Whitley was selected in the 2006 NFL Draft as the 224th overall pick by the Cowboys, who liked his versatility in being able to play any offensive line position. He missed the entire 2006 season with a torn left knee ACL suffered in the preseason.
On March 1, 2007 the Cowboys released him. He did not play during the 2007 NFL season, but was invited to the 2008 rookie camp with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
