E-Play

e-Play is a Limited Liability Company that produces self-service digital entertainment vending kiosks. Unlike other machines such as Redbox, e-Play machines offer the consumers the ability to buy new DVD movies or TV programming, rent titles for $1 per day, buy used titles, and even sell back used DVD titles for either credit in the machine, credit in the participating retail location, or cash credit on their credit or debit card. The machine also has the capability to burn movies that it does not currently stock, such as older films and e-Play is preparing to release a download on demand service. The e-Play platform is able to perform all of these functions due to its highly sophisticated, patent-pending technology.

The consumers of e-Play machines use a touchscreen to navigate through the vast amount of movie choices. Directly above the touch screen is a larger television screen that has the ability to show trailers of movies to help the consumer decide on a purchase as well as provide a targeted platform for advertisers. Once a consumer has located a movie they were trying to find, all of the major actors featured in that movie appear and a brief description of the movie is given. There is also the option of searching for other movies based on the actors that are found in the original movie that the consumer is initially looking up. This provides a sort of 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon feel to the interface.

e-Play machines have been placed in various locations such as stores, airports and fast food restaurants including Wendy's, White Castle and Meijer.

The manufacturing headquarters of e-Play is located in Grandview, Ohio. Here, the machines are manufactured and programmed before being shipped around the country.

The corporate headquarters of e-Play is located in Columbus, Ohio . The marketing and business side of operations are handled at this location.

Alan T. Rudy is the CEO of e-Play and the founder of Into Great Companies, Inc., a venture capital firm in Columbus, OH. Tom Lambers is the founder of e-Play, LLC and Chris Winslow is the Chief Operating Officer.
