In J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth legendarium, Eärendil was the fifth King of Gondor and son of Cemendur, he should not be confused with Eärendil, the father of Elrond and Elros Tar-Minyatur.

He was born in TA.48, the first King of Gondor to be born in the Third Age.

During his reign there were no significant events, which suggests a peaceful reign.

He ruled Gondor for 86 years and was succeeded by his son Anardil in TA.324.
