DZUP 1602 (1602 kHz in Metro Manila) is an AM music radio station owned and operated by the University of the Philippines, Diliman. It broadcasts from the Media Center of the College of Mass Communication, UP Campus, in Quezon City. It is being used as a laboratory for the Broadcast Communication students of the university. Its programming includes music programs and request shows to informative segments and talk shows. The station operates from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm, Mondays to Fridays. Broadcast-free during semestral breaks.
It serves as the community radio station of the U.P. Diliman campus. It has also become the bastion of freedom of expression and academic freedom within the university.
Due to the limited capacity of its transmitting signal, DZUP can only be heard at the vicinity of the U.P. campus and its surrounding communities such as U.P. Teachers' Village. Nevertheless, there are future plans to make the station available to as many listeners as possible by making its service accessible through the internet.
