I wasted $10 on that book; a lot of the "strength" stuff in there would never work. It is not enough to tense the muscle, there has to be resistance of some sort, whether through weight, or isometrics, or even calisthenics.

One thing that was useful though were the stretches he presented. Many of those stretches are only taught within Kung Fu circles (you won't find them taught in any other martial arts), and are actually quite useful. Still though, Dynamic strength is just a moneymaking ploy; you can get a physique like Harry Wong's simply by following a military regimen of calisthenics. It doesn't matter which; airforce, army, marines, SEALS, whatever, its all the same crap.

What distinguishes the Marines from the other branches is that, whereas in other branches you only see basic drilling and marching, never mind unit cohesiveness, in the Marines the training is designed to be deliberately psychologically brutal to create a sense of "togetherness" added to the standard military discipline being emphasized.

The French foreign legion uses a similar method; you can't argue with the results.

If you want a Carter Wong body, then, join the military if you're young enough. Or, buy some military Calisthenics tapes; they're all the rage these days in bodyweight training circles.
