[edit] Career

Dynamite debuted in WWE just shortly after Wrestlemania on the Raw brand and immediately outlined his goal of wearing championship gold around his waist. This did not go down too well with the other superstars in the locker room and as a result of this he soon had problems with superstars such as Jeff Hardy and most notably Shawn Michaels. He immediately entered into a feud with Shawn Michaels to determine who the No. 1 contender would be for the WWE Championship. These 2 men went back and fourth in that month until they finally faced off on PPV at Backlash where Dynamite pulled out the victory in a hard fought match, thus becoming No. 1 contender to the WWE Championship.

[edit] The Backlash Begins

After Backlash Dynamite encountered problems with many superstars on the WWE roster and his shot at the WWE Champion was put on hold by order of Jonathan Coachman until order was restore to the locker room, and Dynamite resolved his personal problems. These problems involved many WWE superstars including John Morrison, Carilto the returning Rowdy Roddy Piper and even the billion dollar princess herself, Stephanie McMahon, who had taken over the running of the Raw brand. At this time WWE were producing a film and they needed a leading man and these men battled over the weeks all wanting to be the next big thing and this rivalry would come to a head at Vengeance where they would meet in a Fatal 4 Way Ladder match to decide who would be the star of the new film which was eventually won by Dynamite in a thrilling main event at Vengeance.

Come August Dynamite was now the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship and was the leading man for the new WWE film. Next on the road for Dynamite was a stop at Summerslam where he thought he was finally going to get his shot at the WWE Champion, how wrong he was! The invasion of the Smackdown's World Heavyweight Champion Batista on Raw with the backing of Stephanie McMahon would end up being the worst moment of his career thus far.

[edit] Summerslam Ladder Match No. 2

Stephanie McMahon forced Dynamite to compete in a Ladder match at Summerslam against Batista partly because of his success in such a short period of time on Raw and partly because as she put it "his treatment of women in the WWE". The stipulation being that, if Dynamite wins, McMahon will be forced to leave Raw for good and hand the reins back to the Coach and he would keep his job, if he lost he would be fired. Upon hearing this news Smackdown General Manager Theodore Long made a surprise appearance on Raw and informed Dynamite that he would have a job on Smackdown should he lose at Summerslam. Batista and Dynamite engaged in an all out brawl in this Ladder match with both men coming close to grabbing the contract but eventually Batista managed to climb the Ladder and grap Dynamite's contract. As a result of this outcome Dynamite was forced to leave Raw per the pre-match stipulation.

[edit] A New Era

Theodore Long kept his promise and the following week on Smackdown Dynamite made his Smackdown debut and begun a new era in his career. However before Dynamite could make an impact on Smackdown he was immediately confronted by ECW General Manager Tommy Dreamer who outlined that he had a problem with Dynamite and along with his ECW alumi signalled his intention to rid the WWE of Dynamite for good.

From this moment Tommy Dreamer caused numerous issues in Dynamites' life using many ECW superstar's such as The Sandman, CM Punk and ECW Champion Bobby Lashley. After weeks of backstage assaults and beatdowns Tommy Dreamer challenged Dynamite to compete in a match at the upcoming PPV No Mercy. Dynamite accepted the challenge, so he could finally get revenge on Lashley and ECW for the weeks of assaults and get back on his path to the World Championship.

[edit] No Mercy

The match was sanctioned by Theodore Long and he informed Dynamite that if he beat Bobby Lashley at No Mercy he would face the World Heavyweight Champion at Cyber Sunday for the Championship. The two men squared off at No Mercy in a rough and physical brawl and at times the match made its way to the outside but eventually after both men had near falls to win the match, Dynamite came out on top and picked up a hard fought win over the ECW Champion and left No Mercy victorious.

[edit] World Heavyweight Champion

With ECW out of his way Dynamite could now concentrate on his match at Cyber Sunday against World Champion Rey Mysterio and finally realise his dream of becoming World Heavyweight Champion. During the weeks leading up to Cyber Sunday both men had problems with each other, whether is was when they were forced to team with each other or when they fought each other but it proved to be an exciting rivalry that cultimated at Cyber Sunday, where Dynamite did in fact achieve his dream and became World Heavyweight Champion pinning Rey after hitting him with the TKO. Both men had given their all and competed in a match worthy of main event status and Dynamite's hard work paid off, he was now the World Heavyweight Champion
