Talk:Dylan Hunt
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Because there are common elements to the current and past Hunts, they all need to be addressed, at least in passing, in a single place. I think Kross is right in having a main article for the Andromeda character, but that character needs at least some mention in the general article for the sake of showing continuity. I've accordingly restored the stub on the Andromeda Hunt here; note the multiple links, including one at the start of the Andromeda section, to what is now the main Andromeda Hunt article.

- He *is* mentioned in the article, in the overview section.--[[User:--Kbgeek 5 July 2005 03:48 (UTC)Kross|Kross]] July 5, 2005 03:19 (UTC)
Kross: Because Hunt is, in a sense, a single subject, i.e., a single character in different incarnations, there should, strictly speaking, be a single article that addresses all incarnations. (Since I was watching the early versions of Hunt before you were born, my sense of continuity between the earlier and later versions is perhaps greater than yours. ;-)) Given the much more developed nature of the Andromeda Hunt, however, I'll concede your splitting him off into a separate article. Nevertheless, I think that some basic information--in addition to the mere fact of his existence--makes the original article more cohesive and reinforces the commonality/continuity that I think is important here. Compare the treatment of Star Trek, another Roddenberry project; TOS is treated briefly in the main article, with a link to a separate, main article dedicated solely to TOS (click here to see). This is the model I was following here. I'd be interested in knowing your objection to my approach given that it's in use elsewhere and in light of my above take on Hunt.
