[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Sabrina.Matthews.gif

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Sabrina.Matthews.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Mosmof (talk) 07:33, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sabrina Matthews image

Hi, thanks for leaving a message on my talk page. Wikipedia's policy on using copyrighted image is rather strict, especially when it comes to WP:NFCC#1 for pictures of living people. If you look at #12 for unacceptable uses, it reads, "Pictures of people still alive, groups still active, and buildings still standing". Basically, because Sabrina Matthews is alive, a public person, and not reclusive, a free image should be able to be acquired without great hardship. One thing you can do is request that the copyright owner release the image to a free license such as {{GFDL}} or a Creative Commons license. Please note that it's not enough to simply permit the image for use on Wikipedia - the owner must forfeit all copyright, and allow the image to be used commercially and to be modified in any way. You can read more at WP:COPYREQ. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any more questions. --Mosmof (talk) 05:24, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
