Dyersburg Northern Railroad

The Dyersburg Northern Railroad was incorporated in 1904. It ran north from a junction at Dyersburg, Tennessee with the Illinois Central Railroad' and terminated 31 miles later at Tiptonville, Tennessee.
The railroad only survived for 5 years. In 1909 the railroad became part of the Chicago, Memphis and Gulf Railroad. From 1909 - 1913, the Chicago, Memphis & Gulf operated the line. In 1913, the Chicago, Memphis & Gulf was merged into the Illinois Central Railroad. In 1983, IC sold the branch to Tennken Railroad. The track remains in-service today under the Tennken Railroad shortline.
