Dy Saveth

Dy Saveth (1944-) is a Cambodian actress. In 1959 she won the Cambodian beauty pageant competition and became the first Miss Cambodia. She starred in many Cambodian films during the 1960s and 1970s, including Pous Keng Kong (Snake Girl), Velveng Na Borng and Crepuscule (Twilight), directed by and starring Norodom Sihanouk and Huy Keung.She was married to Huy Keung, an actor and a producer and a film director during the 1970s. After the Khmer Rouge came to power in 1975 Huy Keung escaped to Hong Kong where he continued his film business there which turned him into one of Hong Kong's millionaires.
Escaping Cambodia during Khmer Rouge era, Dy Saveth settled in France. In recent years, she has returned to Phnom Penh, where she teaches at Royal University of Phnom Penh and acts in films. Her more recent works have included Bopha Angkor, a co-production with a Thai film company and cast, and the all-Cambodian production, The Crocodile.
