Dwyer Middle School

Ethel Dwyer Middle School is located in Huntington Beach, California. Its mascot is the Jr. Oilers. Students from 6th to 8th grade attend the school.

Dwyer has a wide range of classes and does include the GATE program and recently introduced the National Youth Honor Program. Electives include classes such as Industrial Technology. Industrial Technology lets students work through two week period modules and learn skills such as woodwork, video production, computer aided drafting, computer graphics, digital music, and more. Other electives include drama, art, advanced art, technology express(computers), beginning band, cadet band, concert band and being an aid for a teacher or for the office. A new elective, introduce in the year 2007 - 2008 taught by Mrs. Hernandez is the ACME animation. Sudents also have an oppertunity to take band or at least used to. Starting in the year 2008-2009 band may no longer become an option because the school no longer has it's greatest teacher Mr. J simth The students in this elective excel to do their best in all of their animations. Industial Tech is a class taught by Mr. Bradbury.

Dwyer has a host of athletics, which include basketball, soccer, volleyball, and track and field. The coach (now former coach) of the 6th/7th grade team, Paul Smith, recently retired after a long career of teaching Technology Express at Dwyer.
