[edit] Revision
Can I propose the following revision to try to resolve the controversy around this template?
The original template is misleading, as it suggests there is a Doctor Who canon but spin-offs' inclusion in it is unclear: the truth is, there is no canon but a consensus of fans mostly agree that the stories shown on TV can be considered as having happened (bar Dimensions in Time, the original pilot, Shada and possibly Time Crash). The deletion proposal came as a result of this, but it became clear that there was also a strong feeling that if a reader came to Wikipedia looking to find out how the spin-offs fit into Who Canon, they should have an easy link to the appropriate article that tells them about the complexities of the ongoing debate.
I was and am in favour of deletion, but am suggesting the revision as it directs to the canoncity article without inadvertantly suggesting that there is such a thing as Doctor Who canon.
Any comments or objections happily received before I make the revision permanent. Sheriff Bernard (talk) 16:06, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
