ROCK 990 AM (DWRT 990 kHz Metro Manila) is an AM music radio station owned and operated by GVM TV/Radio Corp. based in the City of Makati in the Philippines with a programming for "baby boomers," generation and for those of all ages who are into the classic rock niche in music. Rock990 AM is the only all English language music, talk and news that broadcasts on the Amplified Modulation or AM band in the Metro Manila broadcast area with a transmission reach of almost 80 kilometers, as far as Dau, Pampanga province to the north and in Santo Tomas, Batangas province in the south of the island of Luzon.
The station has been currently inactive since the first week of November 2006.

For a long time, the country’s “baby boomers” have not had the pleasure of listening to the music they once enjoyed, the music they grew with – rock music of the ‘60s. ‘70s and ‘80s Now “Classic Rock” comes alive with the biggest flashback to hit the airwaves with Rock 990 – The Island's First and Only Classic Rock!: Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Deep Purple, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and contemporary rock & roll legends.
The music formula of Rock990 started off as an experimental program on its Cebu City sister radio station dY101 FM as an inspiration by Martha Tuason, and eventually led into the decision to re-open the GVM Radio/TV Corporation's Metro Manila AM radio station on 990 kHz after almost five years of being off-the-air. Rock990 AM was formally launched on April of 2006.
Rock 990 AM is a member of the Kapisanan ng mga Broadkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP), an autonomous, practitioner managed independent self-regulatory association for broadcasting in the Philippines.

Rock 990 AM is a melting pot of classic rock music and its countless varieties such as Reggae, Alternative rock, New Wave, Rock & Jazz Fusion, Country Rock.

Rock 990 AM positioned its programming line-up towards the B, C & D markets, with the sub-niche towards the “baby boomer” generation. Market studies in the Philippines indicate that the "baby boomers" are the ones who make up the country's leading consumer group. Rock 990 AM's music play list also features today’s rock to capture the 13-39-year-old audience.
The station also brands itself as the first and only Classic Rock station in the country. Incidentally, it is perhaps the first radio station on the AM band in the Metro Manila broadcast area to be an all music format at the center of the bandwidth. Left of the 990 kHz frequency are radio stations with news and talk format while on the right are mostly religious programs.
The station launched in March of 2006 and is heard not only on the AM bandwidth, but also on the internet. The station utilizes a computer backed programming thats is transmitted to a streaming server over the internet.
