[edit] List of countries by the number of billionaires
Hi, with reference to your recent edit on the mentioned page, I would like to seek a clarification as to why my edit was reverted. I'm quite sure the information currently on the page is inaccurate. For example, India I'm sure has only 53 billionaires. I don't know how the figure of 74 was arrived at. Moreover even if you tabulate all the figures, they don't make up the total of 198 as shown on the table. I hope you can do a fact check and get back to me. Have a nice day! S3000 ☎ 18:32, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- Those numbers were also mentioned on BBC news, I saw it some time ago! It said India features 13 new billionaires in the forbes list, in addition to the 40 last year. I'm very sure that India has only 53 billionaires. Anyway, before I go ahead editing, could you please furnish me with a source showing those figures are correct? Of course it has to be referenced from Forbes as the list is based on Forbes. I'm not too sure about American billionaire figures, but I'm quite sure about Asian ones. Thanks. S3000 ☎ 10:45, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
-
- Actually it is clearly stated in the article you sent as what I mentioned earlier. India has only 53 billionaires. Thats what Forbes reported too! This source you sent me says: Asians accounted for 211 people on the list, up from 160 last year, with India counting 53, up from 36 in 2007, and China, which had just 20 billionaires last year, now boasting 42. And China too has only 42, not 48 as stated in the article! Moreover, I don't quite get your argument on the currency aspect. Firstly it is already stated in the article page that The following is a list of known U.S. dollar billionaires in 2008 as of March 2008. Secondly, we have to compare all the billionaires globally to a single standard. For example, does it mean an Indonesian would be a billionaire (to global standards) with just 1.0 billion Rupiah (which is around US$110,000)? Perhaps the most you could buy in Indonesia with that is a new BMW 5 Series. My point is we have to have a fair basis of comparison, using just 1 type of currency. Only then will there be a basis of comparison. Thanks. S3000 ☎ 12:19, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
Could I revert those edits back to the previous version? Are you cleared of your doubts now? S3000 ☎ 14:06, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Protection Template
I noticed you placed {{pp-semi-protected|small=yes}} onto Globalization. Placing that template on a page does not protect the article at all. The only way to protect an article is to have admin privileges. If you feel an article needs to be protected because of vandalism please report the page to Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. I removed the template you added. Jons63 (talk) 12:43, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Rewriting history
You will quickly get a Wikipedia-wide reputation for complete lack of credibility -- a reputation just ahead of that of a vandal -- if you alter the comments of other users on your talk page, as you have been doing consistently including several earlier today. Just a word in your ear. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.164.118.95 (talk) 18:29, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
- You are incorrect, I am free to edit my "talk page", as I want, please read the WP:TALK policy, and make sure you read the 8th bullet point from the bottom. Thank you Dwilso (talk) 00:48, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

- Guess again, Sunshine. Edits like this and this affirmatively change the meaning of someone else's comments, and aren't looked on favorably under any interpretation of the policy. But hey, you know what? It's up to you. I quit editing at this place a couple of years ago in part because of just such folks as you. Just one more debit to the credibility account of Wikipedia editors at large. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.245.84.187 (talk) 05:14, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Barnstars
I was just wondering how many Barnstars you are going to give yourself? It is very bad form to make it appear with your edits that someone else said something. I wonder what User:Jamesontai, User:Husond and User:Moeron would think if they came to your userpage and saw that it says that they gave you barnstars but that edits adding them to your userpage was made by User:Dwilso.
- Would you like it if someone started adding things that had your signature after it that you did not say?
It is also hard to believe that your user page has been vandalised 46 times since every edit so far to your user page has been made by User:Dwilso along with most of the edits to your talk page. You are working towards losing a lot of credibility here. (I notice someone else also left a message about you doing things that will hurt your credibility on here) You are free to do what you want, but this is just a friendly notice of how your edits might be interpreted. 68.163.57.108 (talk) 01:30, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
- I don't understand why your hostile toward me, let us establish Peace and harmony together!! and remember that I mean you no "harm" whatsoever. thank you! Dwilso (talk) 05:25, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

- I apologize if I have came across as hostile. I was just trying to explain how your edits might be perceived by others. Once someone loses credibility on wikipedia is very hard to gain it back. Your initial efforts here on this page and on your user page could hurt your credibility if noticed by the wider community. Even though I assume good faith and believe your edits were not with malicious intent, others might not agree with me. I came to this page to see who I was working with on the List of Japanese Cars and noticed the things I pointed out. Again I apologize if I came across as hostile, it was not my intent. 71.242.86.2 (talk) 13:30, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of German Cars
A tag has been placed on German Cars requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Xdenizen (talk) 06:58, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of British Cars
I have nominated British Cars, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/British Cars. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. [edit] Wild Cities
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Wild Cities, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}
to the top of Wild Cities. Gr1st (talk) 22:45, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:WHITEHALL.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:WHITEHALL.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 12:48, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:WHITEHALL.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:WHITEHALL.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:23, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Top Ten mutual funds
Another editor has added the {{prod}}
template to the article Top Ten mutual funds, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 21:00, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] General Motors Dispute
Hello, I have changed the GM page numerous times and had the sources to back it up from the NYT, Wall Street Journal, Wards, GM and Toyota and several others that will show that GM was in fact the largest automaker by sales in 2007. This idiot continually deletes my posting and puts in a source that only talks about a single quarter of last year when toyota briefely passed GM. But that was changed at the years end. So I dont know how you wish to proceed. Please Advise either on here or send a message to mmadmax1984@aol.com

[edit] AfD nomination of Top Ten mutual funds
An editor has nominated Top Ten mutual funds, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Top Ten mutual funds and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 11:59, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Nominating articles for deletion
I notice that you've stuck AfD tags at the top of of a few pages (such as Serie B 1965-66). If you wish to nominate an article for deletion, however, you also have to create a space for discussion and update the AfD log. If you absolutely believe these articles should be deleted, then you need follow the full three-step process outlined at how to list pages for deletion. And thanks for the rather undeserved barnstar, by the way. Best, Gr1st (talk) 13:18, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] AFDs
You added AFD tags to two articles I created (Health in Kyrgyzstan and Health in Jordan), but did not create the necessary AFD pages. Do you mean to complete these nominations? If so please do so ASAP so that I and others can weigh in. I do not think that these nominations will succeed, as these are notable topics (see Category:Health by country) and the articles are sourced. I think you may be better off if you just remove the tags from the articles. Mangostar (talk) 15:32, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Creation of lists
Hi again. I notice that many of the articles you create are lists of various kinds. For the second time in a few days, however, you have essentially created a page which already exists elsewhere on Wikipedia (first it was Fastest Growing Economies when List of countries by GDP (real) growth rate already existed, then it was Debt Countries when we already had List of countries by external debt). If you intend to create any more articles, can you please take a few minutes to check whether Wikipedia already has a similar page - for something as important as GDP growth or national debt, the chances are an article will already have been created. One more thing - can you try and ensure that future articles have an appropriate name? "Debt Countries", for example, doesn't really make much sense. Wikipedia:Naming conventions might be able to help you out with the titling of new pages in future. Regards, Gr1st (talk) 12:14, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your signature
Hey there Dwilso, thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. You may not know this, but it is actually discouraged to have a signature that is larger than the default text size. Currently, you signature is using "font size 5". The problem with using a large font, (besides drawing unnecessary attention to yourself), is of a technical matter, in that it breaks up the line spacing on some computers, making for sloppy copy. Please adjust your signature, per relevant guidelines, in your preference tab to make it the default size, by removing the font size parameter. Using a different color, etc, is okay. Thanks, happy editing, Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 17:33, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for making your signature smaller. However, as best as I can tell, you are still using a "font size 4". Please remove any font "enhancements" from your signature, and allow it to be the same size as the rest of the text on talkpages. Thank you for your cooperation, Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 23:31, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lou Dobbs
I am currently wondering why my edit to Lou Dobbs was reverted, shouldn't the 'lede' paragraph, include major controversies. In that case there are numerous sources and articles that call Lou Dobbs a populist, and a protectionist. I don't know why wikipedians like yourself protect people like him. Dwilso 07:46, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- I know basically nothing about Lou Dobbs other than what's written in the article. I've seen him on television once or twice, and have no real opinion. What I have a problem with, however, is the wording that you used. Especially in cases of biographies of living persons (see WP:BLP), we have to take care not to go out of our way to engage in character assassination (ie. calling Dobbs a "racist" while providing absolutely no context for the comment), or making statements that don't match what the references say (ie. calling Dobbs a "populist" while providing a reference that only states that he has adopted a "populist approach" to a single social issue). Further, you need to review WP:WEASEL, which is pretty clear in stating that the use of words like "some" to describe a person or people who are making a statement, is very strongly discouraged. If you're going to write content in a biography of a living person, it's extremely important that you do so in a fashion consistent with what those content guidelines state. -/- Warren 18:30, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Just a general question. Who makes the determinations if something is significant/important. I have read the lil link you admins cite routing people to read the blurb about credibility. That stuff leaves a lot of politics behind what it credible or not when it comes to awards and tangible recognition. If the Brooklyn Brawler (pro wrestler), who has probably won 2 matches in hes 15 year career, is significant to have a page then everybody should. Just to make it clear, I chose your name at random. [edit] This is not a vandalisation:
I posted the following as a message to you, I never made any vandalisation so I don't know where the "bot" (user MiszaBot) entry came from on the early line, my message was at the end of your page. Oh and I also want to apologise for the note on my edit to the rodney king page as I have no idea whether you are actually biassed or not and I don't know how to change that edit annotation - sorry. - previous message - quote - I fail to see why you removed my edit clarifying the position as regards the "missing" section of tape - "There is dispute whether a part of the tape that shows Mr. King attempting to attack the officers actually exists, although it is claimed that this "unaired" segment was the major reason why the jury returned the verdicts which they did." - I do not think that a court of law has actually ruled as to the existence of a "missing" segment and I hardly think that quoting one website is sufficient evidence to assert it's non-existence. If you have further authoritative sources for your assertion, please give them as I would like to know for sure also. In the meantime I don't think that it is unfair to say that there is a dispute as to whether a missing segment of tape exists. (Please don't think that I in any way condone the treatment of Mr King, I am making my comments in the spirit of objectivity.) rturus (talk) 03:09, 4 May 2008 (UTC) - end of quote -

[edit] SUV page
What possible reason could you have for undoing the change to the main image to a Ford Explorer? It clearly states on the Infiniti FX page that the FX is a CROSSOVER SUV, therefore I feel that it should not be the main image on the SUV article. The FX cannot even be ordered with a real 4wd system or low-range, it does not belong on the SUV page except under a "Crossover" section. Plasticboob (talk) 07:46, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- I just thought putting more popular and stylish SUV's on the page would be more appropriate. Dwilso 07:48, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
-
- There is no reason to put another picture of a crossover (automobile) on the sport utility vehicle article. It is clearly described on the Nissan Murano page that it is an automobile based vehicle -- it is not an SUV. Therefore it does not belong on the SUV page. The compact Cherokee is historically important in this segment on a worldwide basis. Adding an image of a crossover does not give this article a global view. CZmarlin (talk) 00:24, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- I just checked the crossover (automobile) page, why don't you add the Infiniti and Murano pics there? Plasticboob (talk) 00:41, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] DJIA Page and Dowjones.png
I wanted to ask you about your use of "Dowjones.png" on the DJIA page. Simply, I wondered whether you thought that the content substantially aided a reader's knowledge of the DJIA more than what was already available by lala666's DJIA chart 1896 to 2008? The same content is there, and lala666s provides a more comprehensive view, as well as displays the drama of the rise from 1993 that it appears you are after.
The logirithmic/trend line chart does substantially aid our understanding by allowing not only a different perspective in terms of logirithmic calculation, but also provides major trend lines which aid one's ability to decipher, per se, historical movements in the market.
So, I ask you to reconsider your use of the Dowjones.png simply because of a matter of content redundancy, not because of any other feature.
