Dwayne Leik of Skyland, North Carolina was born February 9, 1964. He is currently an owner of Duesenberg & Leik Motorsports and a part time driver for the team in the NASCAR Busch Series. He formerly worked for Marcis Auto Racing as a team manager and driver.

[edit] NASCAR career

[edit] Nextel Cup Series

Leik's first attempts at a NASCAR Nextel Cup Series came in 2000 with Marcis Auto Racing. Driving the #72 Chevrolet he first tried to make the NAPA Auto Parts 500 at California. He also attempted the Pocono 500 later in the season, but was unable to make that race. Leik's third attempt came at the 2001 Daytona 500 in the unsponsored #72 Chevrolet, however he was unable to qualify for that race as well.

Leik made his NASCAR Busch Series debut in 2001 with Dave Marcis Auto Racing. He would attempt four races during the 2001 season, making his first and only start during the year at Gateway. He started the #81 Benore Logistics Chevrolet in the 41st position, however a brake failure after 30 laps would leave him finishing in the 35th position. For the 2002 season he would return to the #81 Chevrolet this time with Warranty Gold providing sponsorship. He would make four of his nine attempts and post a best finish of 24th at Chicagoland. In 2003 he attempted four more races with the team posting a best finish of 25th at Chicagoland. He would return to the Busch Series as an owner in 2006 with Duesenberg & Leik Motorsports. He is also set to attmept the Winn-Dixie 250 at Daytona in the #26 Western Union Chevrolet.

He will attempt the 2008 Camping World 300 in the #01 car for Johnny Davis Motorsports. He made the race but gave ride up to Kertus Davis when Kertus missed race. Leik then made the California race starting 41st and finishing 38th. Leik will try to make full season in #01.

[edit] Craftsman Truck Series

Leik made an attempt in the #81 Ford to make The Orleans 250 at Las Vegas in 1999, however he was unable to get the truck into the field for raceday. He has yet to make another attempt in the Craftsman Truck Series.
