Talk:Dux Bellorum

[edit] Accuracy dispute

This article is simply wrong. Dux was a Roman military title. Dux Bellorum was not. The passage of the Historia Brittonum, referring to a list of twelve battles supposedly fought by Arthur, reads "dux erat bellorum", meaning "he was dux of the battles". The Historia Brittonum was written in the 9th century so can't be considered a reliable source for Roman imperial titles, and I don't believe there is any other attested instance of the phrase dux bellorum. --Nicknack009 01:24, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
