DUSTWUN

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

DUSTWUN is an acronym for duty status - whereabouts unknown used by the United States Department of Defense. Its meaning is very close to the previously commonly used MIA or Missing in action, the main distinction seems to be that DUSTWUN can only apply for ten days. Some people allege that the term is used to avoid referring to the easily recognized MIA status.
