I have read somewhere that the name could be of Latin origin (most likely Dalmatian or possibly Italian or Vlach/Romanian) and it would be translated as "Sleeping" (i.e. "the Sleeping Mountain"). bogdan | ^Talk 20:03, 16 September 2005 (UTC)
