[edit] Failed GA

This article is a fair way away from GA status

  • The article has a severe lack of references. Many sections and paragraphs have no references at all and the refs taht are there are incomplete. The publisher information.
  • The article is not written in a neutral POV but is written in a strong marketing style. There are sections such as "brainchild" and talking about Asoka and the Guptas in glowing terms that are not encyclopedic but have too much WP:PEACOCK
  • There should not be two pictures on both sides of the article, as there is in the lead. That sort of cramped writing is not in line with GA expectations
  • There are a large amount of grammar errors due to missing contractions and prepositions in the text.
  • The lead needs to be larger to better summarise the article and many of the sentences in the lead are short and do not connect ideas with the adjoining circle.
  • One line sentences need to be integrated into paragraphs or expanded into their own paragraphs.
  • "Two mighty rivers" "It all started with the dreamer first " etc are POV
  • The demographics need expanding to include things like the % of young and old people. and religion
  • The writing style needs to be drier rather than the current "entertaining" approach
  • There are a variety of MOS violations in teh article.
