DUES, Durham University Engineering Society, is the student-run society which aims to promote and encourage interest in science and engineering at Durham University.
It is affiliated to Durham Students' Union.

DUES aims to provide a way for its members to develop practical and team-working skills during their time at university. It does this by supporting a number of practical projects[1], with the Durham University Solar Car being the flagship project.
The Society is also encouraging its members to become involved in the Micromouse project.

In order to fund the many activities it organises, to keep membership fees at an acceptable level and to maintain links with industry, DUES is sponsored by a number of companies[2].
Current sponsors are Accenture, Centrica, DML Group and PX Limited.
