"Durch den Monsun"(English: Through the Monsoon) and "Monsoon" are songs by German alternative rock band Tokio Hotel. The German version of the song "Durch den Monsun" was released as their debut single in 2005 from their debut album Schrei. An English version named "Monsoon" was later included in their first English album Scream and released as their first English single in 2007.

[edit] Monsoon
"Monsoon" was released as their first English single in Europe on May 18, 2007. The vocals in "Monsoon" are very much lower than its German counterpart. This is most likely due to the age at which Bill Kaulitz, the vocalist, was at the time the German version was recorded.
The song was performed at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007 in Munich, Germany[1].
The song is also featured in the European version of the video game Rock Band and as downloadable content for the US version.[2]

[edit] Music video
The music video for the English version of the song, "Monsoon", was shot in Cape Town, South Africa in early May 2007. It features scenes of the band in a helicopter and then freefalling and landing on the ground. The band members walk to a stage (although scenes of them on the stage are already shown before the freefall scene) and start performing. As the song nears the end the storm rumbles, rain starts to fall and the beat intensifies. The video also shows scenes of lead singer Bill Kaulitz in the back of a black driverless Cadillac limousine with a typewriter and of the band playing on a stage-like platform.
