Durango (racing team)

Durango is an auto racing team founded in 1980 by Ivone Pinton and Enrico Magro and based in Italy, currently fielding teams in the GP2 Series, Formula 3000, and EGTS (Endurance GT Series championship).
From 1987-1992, the Durango team partook in the Formula 3 Italian Championship. Between 1991 and 1993, they not only participated in the 1991 24 Hours of Le Mans but also the Formula 3000 International Championship and the Formula 2 English Championship. 1994 saw Durango taking part in the Renault Formula 2 championship and Euroseries. It also continued to race in the Formula 3 Championship until 1999. In 2003 they participated for the 2nd time in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 2005, Durango became part of the GP2 Series, a new series designed to help young drivers enter into Formula One. In 2006, the team participated in Formula Azzurra, a series supported by the Italian Karting Federation.[1]
