Durham University Cricket Club run a first-class Cricketing Centre of Excellence. They play an annual first-class fixture versus Durham County Cricket Club and fulfill several other fixtures. Several of their cricketers have progressed to playing County and Test cricket.
Past cricketers include: Nick Compton, Nasser Hussain, Ben Hutton, Simon Hughes, Andrew Strauss and Frank Tyson.
