I'm fairly new to the Wikimedia community. I found it when looking for some help with the Hebrew alphabet and I was blown away by the quality of the Wikipedia entry.

This was part of the work I've been doing with the MusicBrainz project: a Creative Commons effort for audio metadata (primarily for music, but also spokenword/audiobook), where I've been active in the internationalization effort and in the local MusicBrainz Wiki.

I'm very interested in these types of open projects for information resources; I expect them to grow dramatically in the coming years, and be very successful.

In the non-gift economy, I'm a network programmer located in New York City; my software hobbies include internationalization.

Other than that, I like all kinds of music from around the world, and I've studied various languages, including Spanish (I lived for three years in Guatemala), French (in high school), Portuguese (currently), German, Japanese, Turkish and Mam Maya. I'm fluent(ish) in the first three, but can only puzzle out bits in the last three.

Most recently, I've been working on bringing up the level of the various articles relating to Mayan languages, as part of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Indigenous peoples of North America.
