Dương Đông Airport (IATA: PQCICAO: VVPQ) is an airport in Phu Quoc, Vietnam. Most of passengers come to Phu Quoc to enjoy the wild, clean and beautiful beaches of Phu Quoc island. There are about 5 to 6 fights by ATR72 daily from and to this airport with Tan Son Nhat International Airport. Due to the rapid growth of the transportation volume, a new airport project is planned and have been registered by some investors. The new airport will be built in an area of 8 square kilometres in Phu Quoc island, capitalised about $150 million. Upon completion, this airport will have a paved runway of 3000 m x 50 m, capable to handle medium aircraft like A320, A321, B767 with capacity of 2.5 million passengers/year. This new airport will help make Phu Quoc island a paradise for tourists.[citation needed]
