[edit] Electronic and New age music

Please stop whole sale replacing instances of electronic music with newage. Might I suggest discussing such changes on an articles talk page before making them in the future. Dalf | Talk 04:16, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

re Tangerine Dream: it seems that other editors don't agree with your edits, so it would be polite to stop adding them. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Otherwise, people might consider your edits to be vandalism. Thank you. Where's the talk page? Tangerine Dream is known as New Age synthesizer band. Dunk meister 00:56, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
To find the talk page of Tangerine Dream, or any page, go to that page and then click on the tab that says 'discussion' at the top of the main text box. If there's any other things you need to know about editing, do ask me or anyone, we'd be happy to show you. I see that since I wrote to you you've changed both Klaus Schulze and Edgar Froese - both of these have been reverted. You have put the label 'new age' onto many pages, and other editors have reverted or removed it - this shows us that many people disagree with the 'new age' label on these pages. Please don't add 'new age' text to any music articles unless you've first discussed it on the talk page. If you persist, people might consider your edits to be vandalism and you may be blocked from editing. Naturenet | Talk 09:19, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
You shouldn't call all those artist "New Age" ... the term is used in restricted ways. Check [1] , click on down-tempo > new age ... to see what also qualifies here as new age... Not all instigators to new age should be labelled that way. I don't call Muddy Waters a hard rock artist because he influenced Led Zeppelin, I don't call John Coltrane a progressive rock/zeuhl artist because he influenced Magma's Christian Vander

I should and do call New Age artists, New Age artists when they produced music universally known as "New Age Music. Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia where universal and widely known and used definitions and terms are used. Dunk meister 21:05, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

Well done for joining in the debate at Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze. That's the spirit. Keep it up because that's how Wikipedia is made. It's a much better way than making edits which you know are likely to annoy people. Don't forget that Wikipedia is supposed to reflect a consensus of what everybody thinks. If you're in a minority, your edits will not persist long, so the only way to prevail is to convince people by discussing it.
However, I notice that you have still made amendments - which have been reverted by others - without discussing them once more. This is what is classed as vandalism. Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Naturenet | Talk 09:08, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
Come on, now, this is getting silly. I count eleven edits about New Age which you have made to Klaus Schulze since 17 January all of which have been reverted by three different editors (including me). You must understand that the way you are making your edits is wrong. Please do not make any more edits that you know others will disagree with unless you've discussed it first and reached a consensus. If you can't reach that consensus then don't make the edits.
This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Naturenet | Talk 11:55, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Related sock puppetting and vandalism

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits are considered vandalism and are immediately reverted. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you.
