[edit] Duncan Macleod in World War 2

I recall the episode it was shown the participated in the resistance, but there was another part (Episode 10 of the 5th season - "The Valkyrie") where he was shown as an Wehrmacht officer involved in the July 20 Plot.

How come? 80.178.221.191 16:51, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

In "The Valkyrie", Duncan was a british spy who helped the german revolutionaries. Secretaria 11.30, July 24, 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Duncan's Women

i think the description for women in duncan's life should be short. the details of their life can be put on their own articles. for example; amanda and tessa's details. HoneyBee 06:32, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

I've deleted Cassandra because there's nothing in this page about her relatioship with Duncan. All that is said here is said in her page. Secretaria 13:45, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ahriman

Moved the Ahriman part to its own page because this one needs to be shorter. User: Secretaria, 23 May 2006

[edit] Wikifying

For people having tim to lose with such articles, titles of episode must be between the "...", not the ''...''. Bye. --Attilios 17:50, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Editing Duncan MacLeod page

I have edited this page a lot, and I will come back to do more, but I have to stop for today.

By the way, are the books considered canon ? Because I don't have them and therefore can't write about them. Someone will have to do this.

I also suggest that any detailed account of Duncan's life (apart from his birth and first death) should be put on the appropriate part of his timeline. What do you think ?

Rosenknospe 15:42, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

The books are not canon. Little should be said of them considering how bad they are. Joe Dick 11:57, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

how do you know the books are not canon? have you read them? one of the books is also written by the makers of the series; "Evening At Joe's" and chronicles the timeline of Duncan and other immortals too. I suggest that books, CD-ROM, and other merchandise from the official Highlander publication is considered to be canon. Any thoughts? Even when it is not canon, I think it is important to put some information from the books. HoneyBee 12:00, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
This article is about the Character "Duncan MacLeod" it is not about any specific rendition of him but official tales of his life from TV to movies and books, it would not include fan fiction. Please show us a link showing what is not considered conical & what is officially recognized outside of the TV series. Lets not forget that inside the Highlander world some believe that this TV series is also not considered official and some people dispute anything past the original movie. -- UKPhoenix79 20:28, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Editing - Next part

Ten days later... I have made a lot of significant changes and will go on. I am re-watching the series at the same time, so it will last a bit. However, I do think the article is wikified enough, so I'll remove the template.

I have removed the Relationship section because I feel it is not strictly related to Duncan. Also, I have checked Featured and Good articles on fictional characters and none of them have relationship sections.

[edit] Copy edit

An anonymous user has checked the article for grammar. Thank you, Anonymous User ! If you still have time and don't know what to do, you could do the same to Darius (Highlander). It would really help me.Rosenknospe 09:50, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Changes made by 146.74.230.249

I have reverted some of the edits made by 146.74.230.249 and I give the reasons below.

  • "an Immortal fictional character" : reverted to "fictional character" for more clarity.
  • "movie(s)" : reverted to "movies" as there are definitely two of them.
  • "To date, he has only been portrayed by actor Adrian Paul" : reverted to "he is portrayed" because there is no evidence that this character should be portrayed by anyone else, otherwise please cite the source.
  • the series are/the series is : I don't really care about which form is used, but this should be consistent throughout the article. I revert to "the series are" because only the beginning of the article has been corrected.
  • "1991-1997" : I'm sorry to say that those dates are wrong. The pilot episode "The Gathering" is copyrighted 1992 and the last episode "Not To Be" is copyrighted 1998. I revert to "1992-1998".
  • "flashbacks : the right link is flashbacks.
  • I have put back the {{Fact}} tags that have been removed because citations are really, badly needed there.

146.74.230.249, if you disagree with the changes I've made, please feel free to discuss them here. I'm open to any opportunity to make a better article.Rosenknospe 17:46, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] My edits

If you could be bothered looking at my changes rather than blindly reverting, you would see that there has been no removal of information, only a simplifying of language. That is, other than the list of heads taken and other information that is either from the novels or animated series (neither of which are canon). P.S. I meant to write "vandalize" not "vandalism" in the summary. Joe Dick 21:49, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Please let us know how these are not cannon with sources showing what is/isnt considered cannon. -- UKPhoenix79 22:38, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
It would be pointless to do so, as you would just revert the changes anyway - and blindly. The word is actually canon, a cannon is something else.  :-) (That was probably a typo, so there is no need for any angry replies to that comment.) It is common knowledge among fans that the novels and the animated series are not canon, and as I said this was stated in interviews with the producers. I will try to find one. The times that I read them I did not think I would need to save them for something like this. Even if I produce them, it probably would not make any difference, as it is clear you are totally inflexible and unwilling to listen to reason. I will probably be retiring soon, but I might try to find those interviews before I do. Joe Dick 22:44, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
D'oh I hate spelling mistakes.... Please do not say that we have been totally inflexible and unwilling to listen to reason that would be the pot calling the kettle black in this situation. I really liked you idea of marking where the fact came from as to allow people to know that this came from this series and that came from another series. -- UKPhoenix79 23:28, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Duncan.gif

Image:Duncan.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:36, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

As this image a) is a gif, b) has the wrong template (it's not a screenshot), and c) its uploader hasn't contributed for nearly two years, I feel it is ill-fated anyway, and it's better if it's removed from the article. I'll do it if nobody opposes. Rosenknospe 13:28, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
After this overwhelming consensus on non-answering ;D I'll remove the image. There are several pictures of Duncan anyway on this page, and if more are needed, surely we can find a jpg, better-sourced image. Thanks Rosenknospe 11:14, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
i just read the warning. but i agree with you, there are already several pics of him. i'd say just remove it. HoneyBee 11:42, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Duncan's 26th Beheading
