Dunrankin Drive Public School is an elementary school in Mississauga, Ontario, located in the Malton area. The school is part of the Peel District School Board, is named after the street it is located on, and was opened in 1969[1] as "Westwood Public School". However, the name was later changed to avoid confusion with then Westwood Secondary School[2] (now Lincoln M. Alexander Secondary School) where students of Dunrankin go when they've reached grade 9. Dunrankin is a feeder school for Darcel Avenue Senior Public School, where students go once they've reached grade 6. Dunrankin drew attention in 2008 by shutting off all lights, computers and electronic equipment for an hour for Earth Hour[3] and participating in a 20-minute cleanup on part of the Etobicoke Creek Trail running through the Pearson Airport lands, scheduled to be open to the public in 2009.[4]
