Dunedin Academy

Dunedin Academy is an all grade school in Dunedin, Florida, U.S.A. It is operated by Kathleen Porter and Danielle Parker. The school colors are red, white, and blue. Dunedin Academy supports elementary, middle and high school, along with prekindergarten.

The mission of Dunedin Academy is to acquire highest student achievement by promoting honesty, self confidence, self esteem, individuality, and a respect for diversity. The Academy stresses the development of the ability to solve problems, think creatively, evaluate critically, as well as understand a common body of knowledge.

[edit] Anti-discrimination and bullying policy

Dunedin Academy prohibits any and all forms of discrimination and harassment based on race, color, sex, religion, national origin, marital status, age, sexual orientation or disability in any of its programs, services or activities. Bullying is dealt with very swiftly, and is ultimately stopped as long as reported to the administrators and teachers, or witnessed.

Dunedin Academy is the recipient of over 100 National and State Awards. Sports, Music, Art, Computer Science, and Spanish are offered from Kindergarten through High School. There is a small student-to-teacher ratio, usually between ten (10) and twenty (20) children to a grade level. The teachers are certified, many with Master's Degrees.

Dunedin Academy offers a safe environment free of drugs, gangs, student violence, teacher indifference and racial problems. The school offers a dual enrollment program with St. Petersburg College at no extra tuition charge.
