From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Duncan Johnston (June 25, 1847 — October 22, 1931) was a Scottish cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire during the 1882 season. He was born and died in Edinburgh.
Johnston, who made his debut against Lancashire in May 1882, was out of the team just three weeks later, after an unsuccessful game against the touring Australians, which the tourists won by an innings margin, with the help of a ten-wicket match haul by Fred Spofforth.
Johnston's son, Alexander, played seventeen years for Hampshire. Johnston was an opening batsman for the Derbyshire team.
