[edit] Hello

Just thought I'd be the first to say hi :-) KayEss | talk 04:36, 21 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Block

You're correct. That IP address was part of a fairly large scale attack on the Feces page. You can see that from its last 2 contributions (see Special:Contributions/80.3.64.9). I've unblocked the address now. Evercat 11:34, 26 August 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the quick response. I totally understand the need to block vandals. Carry on with the good work. --Dumbo1 02:42, 28 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Personal question

It was for cosmetic reasons. Why do you ask? Jakew 11:33, 19 October 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the response. I wondered if it was cosmetic or for a pre-existing medical reason; or as a medical preventative measure; or for enhanced sexual pleasure; or because a partner had a preference; or religious reasons or cultural reasons. There are so many reasons people do things. You obviously are very involved in the debate, and had been upfront about the recent operation, however you didn't say why and I was curious. --Dumbo1 13:31, 19 October 2005 (UTC)

    • Another personal question - which college of Oxford were you at? Also are you aware there is a page for wikipedians who are alumni of different universities including Oxofrd. Just FYI as a thank you for helping out with the Uriel's machne page. Pydos 14:00, 21 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Uriel's Machine

I've corrected the error about Halley's comet, and will do finish my work when i've time. In the meanwhile have you any suggestions on how to improve the page? I was in a rush when doing it, sadly. Pydos 13:45, 14 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for that. I've added a bit too. Hope it sits well in the article! --Dumbo1 00:19, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

I've tweaked it more and integrated your new material - the spirit of what you added was needed and i've just adjusted it slightly to help it flow. Many thanks. Pydos 09:16, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

See changes to Uriel's machine and it's talk page. thanks Pydos 16:05, 12 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Your user page

Hi, as a New years gift and thank you for the help with Uriels's machine (if you permit me) i've left you a template on your user page - it doesn't denote anything other than what you've already stated, just more colourfully. Pydos 16:35, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

Yeah New Year was ok. Check out my work on userboxes found at WP:UB for other ideas. Pydos 11:41, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your circumcicion related question

I'm currently writing an article overhaul at Circumcision/Dabljuhs_version. Read it and tell me if you find it more useful (as in, answering your question) than the regular circumcision article. Also, tell me if you have any problems with any sections, I'm still trying to improve the thing ;) Dabljuh 18:33, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the question. I have read your version of the Circumcision article, and was in the middle of starting the discussion page, (with a positive comment), only my mates came round a couple of hours ago and I went down the pub instead, it is Friday after all! I'm back though and will post my comments. --Dumbo1 20:27, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

WTF, Friday!! I'm out Dabljuh 21:04, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

It is Friday, so a quick turnaround is needed, and therefore I am going back out down the aforementioned pub, and will no doubt get round to what you suggested tomorrow (i.e. commenting on the article, not your masturbation experiment. That will have to wait.) --Dumbo1 21:21, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your informal circumcision survey

It appears that I am the first respondent. I did not know, BTW, that one could study accountancy at Oxford. I know that Cambridge offers the subject.

"Firstly retract the foreskin. Secondly keep it like that for a couple of days."

I retract with no difficulty whatsoever (and have since age 15 or so), but it simply won't stay that for any length of time. Evidently, the frenum assures that the glans is covered except when I'm erect.

" Do you report any changes? I have tried this and in my case the glans became dry, (it is normally kept moist and lubricated as it is covered by the foreskin.)"

I salute those intact blokes who report a moist glans, but that's not my experience EXCEPT when I've been aroused. Then the Cowper's glans go to work and the resulting secretions remain trapped under my foreskin. In my younger days, I often recall going to social functions, eyeing or meeting attractive women, and noticing when pulling back my foreskin at the urinal that I was very juicy underneath. That's nature's way of preparing for intercourse. My spouse finds the wet penis look and mild smell quite arousing.

"Secondly, after an hour or so, the glans became less sensitive."

In my younger days, I would fully retract the foreskin before urinating (I then lived in the USA), then put my penis back in my pants fully retracted. I would remain quite aware of the rubbing of the glans and inner foreskin against my underwear, until the foreskin would slip down again the glans again after a few minutes. I never recall any loss of sensitivity. Incidentally, being intact changes the whole experience of male arousal. When the penis grows longer, harder and fatter, the glans pushes out of the foreskin in a rather pleasant way. In my younger days, when drinking beer with uncircumcised Hindu friends, I would joke upon seeing a pretty girl "I'm experiencing something denied all Jews..." The ensuing belly laugh confirmed to me that pleasurable sensations from the foreskin sliding back during arousal was something all intact men experienced.

"Unlike circumcision this is easily reversable, by rolling the foreskin back over the glans. Normal sensation returns soon, depending on the amount of time the glans is exposed. If any men who have recently been circumcised are reading this, did they experience the same loss in sensitivity? And with time did this sensitivity return?"

While I don't respect extant published research on circumcision and sexual sensation, here's my two cents worth. The only part of my glans that is truly sensitive is the coronal ridge, something all men retain. From my time in changing rooms, I can tell you that most American men circumcised as infants retain a few millimeters of foreskin, enough to supply a bit of coverage to the ridge when they are fully flaccid. This is why I suspect that most circed men do not experience a major loss of coronal sensitivity. They do lose the very sensitive ridged band (which I have) and the underside of the foreskin which, in my experience, are both definitely stimulated during intercourse and foreplay.

We very much lack an objective way of measuring human sexual sensations. Hence whether circ diminishes the sexual sensations of men, or alters the sexual sensations of women during intercourse, cannot be ascertained at present. I predict, thought, that hard answers to such questions will be possible within 30-50 years.

Research on human sexuality has a strong American tilt. This means that circumcision as a fact and cultural norm, at least for present-day adults, fundamentally colours most published on circumcision and other aspects of sexuality. The experiences of hundreds of millions of intact men in Europe and Japan have, essentially, been marginalised. This will slowly change because a large minority of American boys are now left intact. Most American women born before 1980 or so have never seen a foreskin in the flesh unless they had a fling in their university days with someone foreign born or having a dark skin. That is set to change. By 2020 or so, most younger American women will have had premarital experience with at least one intact man of their own social class. 202.36.179.65 (moved from User Page).

Thanks for that reply. I've moved your note to my discussion page. FYI, I did Earth Sciences (Geology and Geophysics) at Oxford and studied Chartered Accountancy as a graduate, which is the most common route to gaining the qualification.--Dumbo1 12:20, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Authors own work

Hi there; I was making an edit to the Halloween article when I noticed a photo I'd added over a year ago was gone and traced the removal to you...you gave the explanation - "(→Ireland - Removing due to it being authors own work)"!!

Eh...so what? You do understand that totally FREE images can get to Wiki only by being uploaded by editors? (Sarah777 00:45, 11 November 2007 (UTC))

[edit] A new Oxbridge user box

Dumbo1...I am currently in the process of writing a user box for all of the colleges that are part of Oxbridge. This template is meant to replace your current college template. Please take a look at the work in progress and comment on it. My main concerns are college abbreviations and color choice. I am using scarf colors for the colleges. Thank you. - LA @ 17:46, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
