Dumfriesshire Hounds are a very rare breed of dog. They are a crossbreed of bloodhound and foxhound. These large fox hunting hounds are in the bloodline of Otterhounds. Some of their characteristics are long leathers, black or tan fur and straight skulls. They are unique to the United Kingdom and are used in fox hunting in the rugged hills of the Scottish border.
