Talk:Duke of Bedford
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
What is the point in having links which redirect right back to the original page?
- Not a lot. Someone (I forget who) decided they'd be a good idea a while back, and put them in for a few titles (mainly the senior Dukes, I believe), but they don't really do anything except irritate people (I've been annoyed a few times when I've thought there was an article on a particular title-holder only to be redirected to the page I'm on). I believe they go against Wikipedia policy as well. Unfortunately, there's no easy way of deleting them. Proteus (Talk) 06:41, 28 May 2004 (UTC)
My family is in Australia where we have lived since the turn of the century. My name is Michael Kenric Bedford RUSSELL.
My father et al always said I was a descendant from the Dukes of Bedford, and I was very proud, as a child.
Subsequently I have learned that there is a difference between the "Russells of Bedford" and the "Bedford Russells".
I believe that John, PM of England, Bertrand Russell and the current dukes are "Russells of Bedford".
I fear that I am but a mere "Bedford Russell"
Does anyone know of a connection?
Please email me at mike-russell@iinet.net.au if you any information.
Thank you
Mike````
