I move this over here, as it is not a proper reference section, but rather gives factlets about various members of that line.

Elisabeth (1837-1898), who became Empress of Austria, has many biographies. 
Karl-Theodor (1839-1909) was a famous oculist; Fürst und Arzt by Richard Sexau 1965. 
Their father (1808-1888) enabled the sponsorship of Richard Wagner by his cousin Ludwig II of Bavaria.

Johann of Zweibrücken-Gelnhausen (1698 - 1780) and Wilhelm (1752-1837) ?
